The Notebooks of the Ivo de Carneri Foundation
The Notebooks serve as the Foundation’s logbook, as they account for its activities in several different sectors.
The institutions, bodies, and organizations that work within international cooperation are the audience of the editorial initiative, along with all those who demonstrate interest in the theme of developing the global South.
The Notebooks represent the scientific “showcase” of the Ivo de Carneri foundation, collecting and spreading the research, the theses, the courses, and the conferences that the Foundation, the Laboratory, the Island of Pemba, and Tanzania have carried out.
The academic legacy of professor Ivo de Carneri of the University of Pavia was the departure point for the numerous collaborations with universities from all over the world.
The project is carried out through three different routes: Universities and Cooperation, Information and Training, and Research.
Universities and Cooperation
The first notebook is a collection of theses completed by university students who focused on the Island of Pemba, from its socio-economic issues to it’s public health issues.
Information and Training
The second notebook recounts the events which the Foundation carried out, both independently and in collaboration with other institutions. The driving force for these events is global health, with particular attention being paid to tropical medicine and the activities carried out on Pemba Island.
Research
The third notebook highlights the importance of the PHL-Idc for local and global research. Such research was made possible thanks to the cooperation between the Zanzibar Mintistry of Health and the Foundation.
